The Saint-Gobain 1600-2265 has a Bicron (R) NaI(Tl) crystal.

Specs

Crystal type: NaI(Tl)

Crystal size: unknown

  • Probably size of some sort: 1.12 X 1.12 M3 / 1.12L
  • 1.12" cube?

Operating voltage

  • "works great in the voltage range between 800-950 V, and also has a knob for gain adjustment. Total resistance is 17 M Ohm"
  • Someone else cited 650 V to give "8,000 CPM"

PMT: Adit B29B10 (datasheet?)

Hello people

I was looking around the internet. and I found this on google.

Link

I can't find any info about this probe. like voltage enz and the Energy response.

does someone know something about this type of probe ? :)

Buddy,

Found what looks like a match on ebay. A guy is selling several for $99 each: 251382361230 (if you look closely, the part number is partially peeled away but you can still see the remnants faintly of "I600-2265" where it should be).

I don't know much about spectrometry but it looks like a good deal. Here's a description from another auction which seems to be the same probe: 281251838823

"Bicron NaI scintillation detector (model: 1.12×1.12M3/1.12L). Meter is not for sale. Background measures around 8k cpm at 650 volts. Also can be used for gamma spectroscopy (see picture). This spectrum is of rich thorite using a gamma spectacular set at 650 volts. Also shown is it responding to samples of uraninite and a uranium ore core sample. It has a bnc connector coming out of the detector, so you will need an adapter (not included) like the one pictured to use it on other type connections (most Ludlums). Dimensions are 9.5" x 1.375" x 1.375"

Will share the link with the gamma spectrometry group to see what they have to say about it…

-Chris

Export data

Reference

Detailed Export Data of 12m3 1 under HS Code 9030

43 export shipment records found.

Lists a considerable number of these going "Banglore Air Cargo" to "USA"

Perhaps the most interesting bit is the declared value:

  • Low quantity (1's): 20,246 NIR => $311
  • High quantity (100): 17,510 NIR => $269

Presumably marked up (keystone?) for actual sale.
